Outdoor music in Vancouver, featuring an energetic Brazilian band

The longest day of the year is drawing close: June 21st, the day with most daylight time in the year. And the best way to celebrate our sunniest day is certainly with outside activities. What about free music presentations around the streets of Gastown and Yaletown? This is the idea behind the event Make Music, that happens every June 21st in hundreds of cities in the world, like New York, Toronto and Rio de Janeiro, and happens in Vancouver since 2011. Dozens of artists will be on the streets of those two neighbourhoods, starting at 2pm, and also in places such as hotel lobbies and Skytrain stations, performing free music for everyone to enjoy.
This year, the festival will also have the presence of the group Bloco Energia, and ensemble of samba performers. The group, based in Vancouver, plays at parades, festivals and events, and also hosts weekly classes of Brazilian music.
